Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985. Her birthplace was Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was a natural at athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200 meters of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and was then accepted into University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She became the youngest world winner in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix has consistently placed in the top 3 across her diverse events in the Olympics which took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
